*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* This package contains version 2.0.15.1 (Beta 38) of the 40tude Dialog newsreader for Windows. To install the program simply run the file 4d2b38.exe and follow the installation instructions. WARNING: This is beta software. Although there has already been an extensive closed alpha and beta phase, you must be prepared to lose all your articles, emails and settings due to a yet undiscovered bug. If you are updating from a previous version, simply close Dialog and install this version over the old version, but please backup your Dialog directory first. When updating from version 37 or earlier there are the following issues: * The address book format has changed. You might want to keep a backup of your existing address book file "addrbook.dat" in case you want to go back to a previous version. When updating from version 36 or earlier there are the following issues: * Once you updated to and started this version of Dialog there is no way back. Some files now use a different file extension to prevent them from being accessed by the Windows Restore feature. Existing files are renamed upon first start, so afterwards an old version of Dialog will not be able to access the database files correctly. When updating from version 35 or earlier there are the following issues: * Once you updated to and started this version of Dialog there is no way back. The database has a slighly different format and all files will be automatically converted to the new format when accessed for the first time. A previous version of Dialog will no longer be able to access these files. If you think you might want to go back to a previous version, please backup your complete Dialog directory before installing this version. * Attachments that were automatically saved to disk might no longer be accessible from within Dialog. (This only refers to files with non-ascii characters.) * You will need to recompile all your scripts. * There were some scripts in Wiki and in the groups that used "NULL" incorrectly. While previous versions of Dialog tolerated this, the new version does not. The scripts will compile, but raise an error when executed. In the scripts where NULL is used, it usually needs to be replaced with either 0 or an empty string ''.
